How I Prepared For Shoulder Surgery

4 days have passed since my shoulder surgery and I’m getting ready to return home. i’d like to share how being able to use only one arm for 6 weeks made me wonder how others have survived the same challenge.
One poster mentioned I’d have to get comfortable going without a bra.

Well, I’m not the most endowed of girls but I hate that unsupported feeling.

Solution? I ran to buy strapless bras, but realized I would still need help with the closure. Luckily I have family around to help, but what about you ladies who live alone? Solution #2; adhesive bras! Target has couple of options, so now I have those too.

Tank tops and/or wife beaters are a necessity as a base layer during the winter months. But immediately post op and for two weeks while no active motion is allowed, how would I wear a shirt? I cut up some tee shirts and got creative with velcro, and was able to presentably wear a shirt with my sling. The nurses in the hospital were impressed with my creation when they came in the morning after my surgery to find me dressed and ready for the doctor’s visit. There’s a good possibility I’ll be selling those in the future; stay tuned!
